Mr. Dang Huy Dong is a leading Vietnamese policymaker and development expert with nearly 40 years of experience in planning, socio-economic development, lawmaking, and international investment promotion. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in both the Government and the Party, and has represented Vietnam at many high-level international forums, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
He has made major contributions to Vietnam’s legal and policy framework, directly participating in the drafting of key legislation such as the Enterprise Law, Investment Law, Planning Law, and Law on Supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. In addition, he has served as a senior strategic advisor to the Government and the National Assembly on vital socio-economic issues, helping to elevate Vietnam’s standing within ASEAN and the global community.
Mr. Dong has also left his mark on several strategic national projects, including the Long Thanh International Airport, Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City Metro Systems under the TOD model, Da Nang City Master Plan 2021–2030, and notably the 3,200 MW LNG Power Plant in Bac Lieu, where he was appointed Economic and Investment Promotion Advisor by the Provincial People’s Committee.
With a strategic vision for infrastructure, clean energy, and sustainable development, Mr. Dong now leads PDI as Chairman, positioning it as a trusted research and policy advisory institute, fostering connections between policy, science, and business to drive green transition, sustainable growth, and global integration.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Management, providing a strong academic foundation for his career in policy-making and socio-economic development.
